River & Countryside
Cycle past golden rice paddies, sugar palm silhouettes, and lotus ponds — the countryside Cambodia is built on.
What to Expect
The countryside around Kampong Thom is one of the most quietly beautiful landscapes in Southeast Asia — rice fields stretching flat to the horizon, punctuated by the silhouettes of sugar palms, the pink and white of lotus ponds, and the wooden stilt houses of Khmer villages. This bicycle route takes you out of town along quiet village roads, following the Stung Sen river through scenes that have barely changed in a thousand years. Your guide knows every farm path and family.
